Join us for the Annual Church Picnic!

Hey St. Matthew's family! Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 26th at 11:30 AM for our annual church picnic. Our services will be at 8 and 10:30 AM that day, and we can't wait to see everyone come together for a day of fellowship, fun, and food.

You might wonder, what do picnics have to do with God? Well, quite a lot, actually! Whether we eat, drink, or have a picnic, we do it all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

  1. Celebrating God as Creator: Meeting outdoors is a wonderful way to appreciate God’s creation. The Bible tells us that "The heavens are telling the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1). Gathering beneath the sky is a perfect reminder of His handiwork and a beautiful setting for worship and community.

  2. Building Unity: Informal get-togethers like picnics help us build deeper relationships. These relaxed moments allow for natural conversations and help us connect with people we might not usually interact with. It's an excellent opportunity to break down barriers and cultivate a sense of family within our church.

  3. Rest and Recreation A leisurely afternoon in nature is a great reminder of our need for rest. Jesus himself encouraged his disciples to take time to rest (Mark 6:31). So, let's enjoy this break from our routine and embrace the theological importance of rest and recreation.

Join us for a wonderful day filled with good food, fun games, and heartfelt fellowship. Let's celebrate the Creator, build our church community, and rest together under the greatest vaulted dome ever made. We look forward to seeing you there!
