This summer at St. Matthew's has been amazing, and that is because of all of you!
As we enter into the final countdown leading into school starting and the heat of the "Dog Days of Summer", there's no better place to find solace and joy than in the fellowship of our church family. Sundays at St. Matt's are a perfect escape from the sweltering temperatures.
The term "dog days of summer" refers to the hottest and most oppressive period of the summer, usually from late July through August. During this time, we are reminded of the importance of community and finding comfort in each other's company...and maybe a little air conditioning!
All summer, throughout the Great Summer Lovefest, our hearts have been filled with the message of 1 Corinthians 13, emphasizing the importance of love in our lives. Our church community is more than just a gathering place; it's a source of support, friendship, and love. The bonds we create here are strengthened through shared experiences, worship, and, of course, delicious food.
This Sunday, we invite you to embrace the spirit of summer with our "Hot Dog Days of Summer" event. Between our 9:30 and 11 AM services, we'll have hot dogs and an assortment of toppings. It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some tasty bites, cool off, and connect with fellow parishioners.
Come and experience the joy of worship, the power of love, and the refreshing community spirit at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors—there's always room for more at our table.
"Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."— 1 John 4:7 (NRSV)
See you on Sunday!
