A Discussion Series on Belonging

The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times: Join the Conversation

This Lent, take a midweek pause to refocus, recharge, and reconnect.

Join us for a warm, home-cooked soup supper, followed by an engaging, uplifting experience for all ages.

Together, we’ll explore themes of love, healing, and radical belonging from Gregory Boyle’s Cherished Belonging, discovering how community can bring deeper meaning to our lives.

More Than Just Another Activity – A Midweek Reset

  • Dinner is covered. Enjoy a warm, homemade meal together.

  • Kids and youth will be engaged. Children will have fun Lent-themed activities while youth explore faith in a real and relevant way through discussions and games.

  • Adults get a moment to breathe. A short reflection from Fr. Rob leads into casual, small-group conversations.

  • We end with peace. The evening concludes with Compline, a beautiful prayer service to calm the mind and soul before heading back into the week.

Want to make a meaningful contribution to the series?

  • Sign up to bring a pot of soup or rolls for one week.

  • Too busy to cook? Sign up to help clean up!

  • Can't do either? We're just glad to have you join us. All are welcome.

If you're able to help, please sign up below and be part of making this gathering special!

About Cherished Belonging

Lent is a season of reflection, transformation, and renewal—a time to draw closer to God and one another. In Cherished Belonging, Gregory Boyle challenges us to reimagine what it means to truly belong—not through exclusion or division, but through radical love, compassion, and connection.

This series invites us to explore these themes together, not just in theory, but in real, lived community.

  • How can we become people who cherish rather than divide?

  • What does it mean to see the world through a lens of love?

  • How do we cultivate deep belonging in our own lives, families, and communities?

Where to pick up your copy: Cherished Belonging is available through your favorite bookseller, or contact Miriam at the church office.
